Reimagining philanthropy
in a time of crisis.

For decades, philanthropy has been engaged in reflection about its structure, operating norms, and impact. Questions continue to be asked about the alignment between stated values and actual practices, who holds decision-making power, and which communities are overlooked in the distribution of funds.

What’s been missing is a shared narrative — one that bridges critique and innovation, and that elevates the bold efforts to reimagine what philanthropy can be.

This film series aims to change that. Through candid, story-driven episodes, we bring together some of the most thoughtful leaders in the field to explore philanthropy’s most pressing questions — about race, power, accountability, and impact. These stories are designed to spark dialogue among donors, staff, trustees, funder affinity groups, and the grassroots leaders who depend on philanthropic support.

Our goal is to encourage funders to think and act with greater clarity, by spotlighting those who are pushing the field forward.

Initial support from the Chorus Foundation allowed us to produce two episodes. We’re now seeking partners — foundations, intermediaries, and funder networks — to help us tell more of these important stories. Let’s talk.
